![]() Tove Jansson based the character on herself while writing Moominvalley in November.Even though the Season 2 finale is an adaptation of Moominvalley in November, Toft does not make an appearance, and his role in the story is given to Toffle instead.He was rescued by the mysterious lighthouse keeper and begins living with him on the island before he encounters the Moomin family. In this television series, Toft is a young boy who was traveling to Moominvalley when the ship he was on capsized.Toft is one of the characters who traveled to Moominvalley in hopes of meeting the Moomin family, only to find the Moomin's have left.In the original book, Toft is a Whomper, but in the English version of the book, his character was translated into a "boy". At night Toffle comes across a party in the woods, but stays outside of it. One night hes had enough and abandons his home at dawn to live somewhere else, during the day he sees lots of people going by, but hes to scared to talk to anyone. He is also able to use Moominpappa's crystal ball. Toffle lives alone in a small house where he is constantly frightened by giant hemulens walking outside. He is very mysterious and seems to have the power to bring things from his imagination into the real world.
